Contraindications to the drug SUBUTEX
This medicine should not be used in the following cases:
severe liver failure,
severe respiratory failure,
during a state of acute drunkenness or delirium tremens,
in combination with methadone, morphine and related substances
child under 15 years old.
Interactions of the drug SUBUTEX with other substances
This medicine must not be combined with methadone or strong analgesics (morphine and its derivatives): risk of diminishing their effects.
It can interact with antitussives and analgesics of the opioid family (codeine, tramadol, ethylmorphine …).
In addition, inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking sedative medications.
There is no known interaction with cocaine (frequently used by drug addicts mixed with heroin).
Fertility, pregnancy and lactation
The use of this medicine in the treatment of opioid dependence is possible during pregnancy. Dose adjustment may be necessary. In case of prolonged intake at the end of pregnancy, reinforced medical surveillance of the newborn is recommended in order to prevent a possible withdrawal syndrome.

Instructions for use and dosage of the drug SUBUTEX
This drug must be taken sublingually: placed under the tongue, it melts in contact with saliva and is absorbed by the oral mucosa; it must be kept under the tongue for 5 to 10 minutes, the usual time for its complete dissolution.
The daily dose is taken at one time; it remains active for 24 hours.
Initially, the doctor prescribes between 0.8 and 4 mg; he then adapts the dosage according to the result. The maximum dosage is 16 mg per day.
Precautions are necessary during the first set (see Caution). When this medication is taken in combination with methadone treatment, the dose of methadone should be reduced to a maximum of 30 mg per day.
When the status of the addict is stabilized, the doctor gradually decreases the dosage until the treatment is stopped.
